As the world's premier nephrology meeting, Kidney Week brought together over 10,000 professionals to explore advancements in kidney disease research, treatment, and technology.
XY-TEK's participation highlighted its cutting-edge clamp-on ultrasonic flow sensors/ flow meters, air bubble detectors tailored for renal therapy devices, demonstrating how accurate flow rate measuring can enhance patient safety and treatment efficacy.

These non-contact ultrasonic sensors are designed for seamless integration into medical devices, addressing critical challenges in kidney disease management, such as blood purification, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT).
The XY-TEK flow sensor team is thrilled to engage with the global nephrology community at Kidney Week. The micro flow rare measurement sensors empower medical device manufacturers to deliver safer, more reliable renal therapies, aligning with the ASN kidney weeks focus on innovation and patient-centered kidney treatment.
1.The CG Clamp-On ultrasonic Flow Sensor / Flow Meter stands out for its non-invasive design, allowing easy clamp-on to existing tubing without cutting any tubing. With accuracy up to ±2% and compatibility with small-diameter tubes (ID from 4mm), the CG series clamp-on flow sensor / flow meters excels in monitoring micro flow rates and detecting air bubbles in renal devices.

In kidney treatment applications, the CG sensor ensures accurate measurement of dialysate and blood flow rates during the blood purification process, reducing risks of over- or under-purification. Its compact design makes it ideal for portable medical devices, where mobility means more possibilities. Attendees at Kidney Week praised the flow sensor's quick installation features—under 10 minutes—and cost-effectiveness, with performance stability.

2.XY-TEK offers the flow sensor / flow meter solution for medical device manufacturers. The CM clamp on Flow Sensor / Flow Meter offers high-accuracy flow rate measurement (±2% accuracy) in compact formats. The non-contact flow rate measurement mechanism minimizes contamination risks in sterile renal applications, supporting therapies for chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients.
The major difference is that CM clamp-on ultrasonic flow sensors / flow meters only provide RS485 output, while CG series clamp-on ultrasonic flow sensors/flow meters also provide analog, frequency, and pulse output.

The CM flow sensor / flow meter supports OEM customization by the of shape, color, etc.

3.BG Series Bubble Sensor /Bubble Detector provides ultra-sensitive detection of air bubbles as small as 1/3 of the tubing ID(Inner diameter), preventing potentially life-threatening embolisms in renal circuits. Utilizing advanced ultrasonic technology, it can be integrated seamlessly with blood pumps and infusion systems used in CRRT and acute kidney injury treatments.

In renal therapy, even microscopic bubbles can compromise patient safety. The BG air bubble detector’s real-time alerts enable proactive intervention, improving treatment safety in high-stakes environments like ICUs.
Utilizing ultrasonic technology, unaffected by the liquid color, makes it a plug-and-play solution for medical manufacturers developing next-generation kidney treatment and equipment.
