TGU ultrasonic flow sensors / flow meters can be integrated into flow system to measure ultra-low flow rates with exceptional accuracy levels of up to ±0.1 mL/min.
This video shows a simple accuracy test of the TGU-012 ultrasonic in-line flow sensor / flow meter. A syringe pump is used to inject water at about 48 mL/min through the sensor and tubing, and the injected water is collected by a beaker on a scale. The sensor-measured flow volume can be compared directly with the weight of the water collected, as water has a density very close to 1g/mL (0.997g/mL at 25C, to be exact).
They are well-suited for bioprocessing devices with ultra-low flow rate measurements, such as :
1. HPLC, liquid chromatography equipment
2. TFF, Tangential flow filtration system
3. Cross flow filtration system
4. Protein separation and purification devices
5. Single-use bioprocessing equipment, bioreactor
