In industrial settings, the maintenance issues associated with flow meters are often underestimated. Many equipment managers may have had similar experiences: after a period of use, the bearings of a turbine flow meter wear out, leading to measurement deviations; the electrodes of an electromagnetic flow meter become fouled, requiring disassembly …

ISPE 2026 | XY-TEK Returns to Boston with Advanced Bioprocess Ultrasonic Flow Monitoring Solutions
September 24th, 2026
XY-TEK has been committed to serving both domestic and international markets since its inception. Over the years, we have built strong, long-term partnerships with clients worldwide, continuously adapting our fluid measurement solutions to diverse international markets and demanding operational scenarios.

This year marks XY-TEK’s third consecutive participation in ISPE. On October 7, we will return to Boston to showcase our latest ultrasonic flow measurement products and connect live with industry clients and partners.
In biomanufacturing—ranging from cell culture, media and buffer delivery, to filtration, chromatography, protein purification, and aseptic filling—fluid transport is embedded in every critical process. At the same time, flexible plastic tubing (such as PVC, silicone, PE, and TPU) and single-use flow path systems are widely utilized in biopharmaceutical equipment, imposing distinct requirements on flow ranges, tubing formats, and installation methods for different processes.
To address the varying pipeline configurations, flow ranges, and monitoring demands across biopharmaceutical processes, XY-TEK has developed a comprehensive product portfolio covering single-use flow paths, low-flow measurement, and bubble detection, providing tailored flow sensing options for diverse biopharmaceutical equipment.
- CG Series Clamp-On Ultrasonic Flow Sensors
Single-use technologies are widely used for fluid transport and processing in biopharmaceutical production. For media, buffers, and other process liquids, flow monitoring must not only meet precise measurement requirements but also minimize any impact on the original flow path.

The CG Series adopts a clamp-on design, positioning the sensor on the outside of the tubing without direct contact with the process fluid. It requires no cutting, welding, or the addition of internal measuring components, allowing flow monitoring while preserving the integrity of the original flow path. The sensors are reusable and ideal for integration with single-use fluid systems.
Covering a size range from 5/32″ (4 mm) to 1-3/8″ (35 mm), the CG Series offers multiple models compatible with standard flexible plastic tubing such as PVC, silicone, and TPU. Specific models can be selected based on tubing dimensions and flow requirements.
From media and buffer transfer, cell culture, to filtration, chromatography, and other downstream processes, the CG Series provides real-time flow monitoring and equipment integration, delivering a flexible, non-invasive flow measurement solution for single-use and hybrid biopharmaceutical systems.
- TGU Series Low-Flow Ultrasonic Flow Sensors
In small-scale bioreactors, cell culture systems, laboratory-scale filtration and purification equipment, as well as dosing and fluid delivery modules, liquid flow rates are typically low. Such applications demand not only a smaller measurable flow range but also sufficient resolution and accuracy to precisely reflect flow variations during liquid transport.

The TGU Series is engineered for low-flow liquid measurement ranging from 5 to 100 mL/min, with a resolution of up to 0.05 mL/min. It is ideal for small-diameter fluid paths, enabling flow monitoring of water, saline, buffers, and other liquids. Its high measurement resolution and precision make it exceptionally well-suited for continuous monitoring in low-flow delivery, dosing, and process control.
From laboratory-scale systems to compact biomanufacturing equipment, the TGU Series offers a high-resolution flow measurement solution wherever precise liquid flow tracking is critical.
- TAD Series Stainless Steel In-Line Ultrasonic Flow Sensors
The TAD Series features a stainless steel in-line structure with no moving parts, allowing direct integration into equipment fluid pathways. Compared to traditional flow measurement solutions that require substantial installation space, its compact footprint makes it ideal for space-constrained internal equipment designs.

For applications requiring high measurement precision alongside strict control over equipment dimensions and costs, the TAD Series delivers a high-accuracy flow option. In scenarios where volumetric flow serves as the primary monitoring parameter, it also provides a reliable alternative to mass flow meters.
Suitable for process liquids, buffers, and similar media, the TAD Series can be seamlessly integrated into fluid transport lines of filtration, purification, and other biopharmaceutical equipment.
- BG Series Ultrasonic Bubble Detection Sensors
In biomanufacturing, bubbles are more than just occasional occurrences in fluid lines. The ingress of bubbles into filter membranes, chromatography columns, or filling systems can disrupt filtration and separation processes, cause flow fluctuations, or result in dispensing volume errors. During pumping, bubbles can also stem from pump cavitation or fluid level changes in storage vessels, compromising fluid transport stability.

The BG Series is installed externally on tubing, detecting gas-liquid status non-intrusively without contacting the process medium. It is compatible with PVC, silicone, and other flexible tubing as well as single-use fluid systems. For biopharmaceutical applications with stringent demands on flow path integrity and purity, it enables bubble monitoring without altering the original flow path.
From media and buffer transfer, filtration, tangential flow filtration (TFF), chromatography, to liquid filling and pumping, the BG Series helps identify the risk of bubbles entering critical process units. When paired with our flow monitoring products, it provides a more complete fluid line monitoring solution for biopharmaceutical equipment.
From non-invasive flow measurement in single-use flow paths and precision monitoring of micro-flows, to critical bubble detection in key fluid lines, XY-TEK continues to apply advanced flow sensing technology to biopharmaceutical equipment and processes.
To date, XY-TEK has established partnerships with clients across multiple countries and regions, with our products being increasingly deployed in global markets.
See You in Boston This October! We look forward to meeting new and returning clients on-site to discuss flow monitoring requirements in biopharmaceutical processes.
